Exercise 1 issues

As it seems I am either too confused to locate them (but that seems unlikely) or somebody forgot to place the makefiles which we were to use in my account. Can somebody send them to me via e-mail or other means of electronic transfer?

Hi,

The exercise is meant to get you started setting up a cuda project. Therefor writing
a makefile is your task aswell. You can use the sample file from the template project,
copy the template makefile and adopt the paths. For that some variables need to be
redefinied. For further infos please look at the common.mk.

As a lot of people in the linux pool have problems with setting up the makefiles, here are some hints:

• copy the makefile of one of the projects in the CUDA SDK (if you copied the CUDA SDK template app then you have it anyway)
• use an absolute path to include the CUDA SDK's common.mk
• overwrite the variables ROOTDIR, SRCDIR and BINDIR
• be careful when setting the ROOTDIR, as in common.mk the include and library paths are set to $ROOTDIR/../lib

Thanks for the remark, but I suppose I missed the point in my previous post; my problem is: the folder which is meant to contain the template project, which I hoped to use for the exercise, did not exist when I last checked my account. Given the late date I'll solve the exercise without those files (hopefully, at least).
